Lectors

Our Parish has a devoted group of volunteers who spread the Word weekly by proclaiming readings from the Bible at Mass. All Lectors must be in good standing with the Church and are appointed by the Pastor.

Schedules are issued monthly, based on your availability, and are managed via an online program, Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP). Requests to swap assignments can be easily made through the MSP app on an iPhone or Android or on your computer.

During the summer months, with our expanded mass schedule, assignments may be more frequent.

As a lector:

• Arrive at least 10 minutes before Mass to become familiar with the announcements and the Prayer of the Faithful, which changes weekly.
• Study the Lector’s Manual (provided at the beginning of each new year) as you are expected to study the readings, becoming comfortable with inflection, pronunciation, and meaning.
